On 1 July, Le Final makes a stop at CAC Brétigny. Lidwine Prolonge, Géraldine Longueville and Angélique Buisson, together with Lina Schlageter, will be offering their on-site artworks and performances reflecting their investigations and experiences at and around the CAC Brétigny center. Videos by Mercedes Azpilicueta, Alejandro Cesarco*, Till Roeskens*, Ulla von Brandenburg* and Katarina Zdjelar, all of which gravitate around the notion de language, will also be screened on this occasion.

Angélique Buisson/Lina Schlageter, La forme du mouvement (The Form of Movement)

In 1920, Rudolf Laban invented a notational system for recording movement that he called kinetography (it is also known as Labanotation and Laban movement analysis). This method was adapted and staged by Angélique Buisson for her project La forme du mouvement with two classes from the École Lamartine in Saint-Michel-sur-Orge (Essonne). At CAC Brétigny, the dancer Lina Schlageter will translate and decode the “score” composed by the students on the basis of gestural language and stage props.

The project La forme du mouvement is part of a “Projet d’éducation artistique et culturelle” (PEAC, Project for Artistic and Cultural Education), which enjoys the support of the Direction of National Education Services of the Department of Essonne.

Géraldine Longueville, Les eaux situées (Situated Waters)

“With the project Les eaux situées I am presenting my research on the creation of a bitter made with plants, roots and spices growing in the Val d'Orge region. Obtained by steeping bitter-tasting plants in alcohol, bitters made their appearance, mostly in Western countries, at the end of the 19th century. They are composed of different plants and roots from ‘indigenous’ and/or ‘tropical’ sources, and their consumption has evolved through the centuries. They used to be consumed for therapeutic purposes and were prescribed against stomach ache and indigestion. Mixed with sugar and fruits, their consumption increased during Prohibition. Today, they are mostly used by mixologists as a powerful condiment that adds a touch of bitterness to cocktails.

“The plants collected around the art center, the history of the laborers and farmers of Val d’Orge, as well as my own research on the notions of acclimatization and integration, constitute the sources of the ‘ingredients’ of this future recipe.” (Géraldine Longueville)

"In June/July 2017, CAC Brétigny is pleased to present a series of actions and experiments titled ALM, a protocol that was started in 2007. It is divided into two plans, Plan A + Plan B.
Plan A is being presented in the public space of CAC Brétigny.
Plan A is a rumor, an infiltration, a recording, a transmission, a levitation, a transportation, a long-circuit, a rhythm, a distortion, a step, an announcement, an oracle, and a dispersion of hours.

Plan B will take shape as a public performance on 1 July at CAC Brétigny.

Plan B is a hypnosis session, a listening session, a session of listening once again, a flash-forward, the constitution of a repertoire, the signing of a pact, a time warp, a space warp, a transmutation, a faux-pas, a choral heartbeat, a storm, a short-circuit, a passing moment, a gathering of hours, a chant, a finale, and a false ending."
