“MUSIC ITEM”
Talita Otović has been invited, as part of CAC en sac, to design a sensory installation for babies and toddlers. Imagined as a mobile sculpture, the project “MUSIC ITEM” combines sounds, lights and materials to offer children a participatory listening experience. The installation, used by CAC Brétigny's team in nurseries and playgroups, supports free exploration, stimulation and the discovery of first creative gestures.
Talita Otović is a sound artist, producer, performer and filmmaker . Her work explores sound as a living material capable of unfurling in a space, passing through bodies and transforming perception. She moulds sound as she would words. The sound material becomes a story and creates multiple states of consciousness. She designs new ways of inhabiting the world. Her works take the form of sensitive landscapes made up of vibrations, frequencies and rhythms. Her work combines video, performance and installation. She also offers workshops and introductions to the practice of DJing. She works from electronic music associated with the musical repertoires of her Yugoslavian heritage. Her projects read like immersive experiences in which we let ourselves be carried away by the sound, between fiction, memory and pulsation.
Talita Otović was born in 1996 and is a graduate of the École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs de Paris. Her work has been presented and performed in a diverse range of contexts from institutions to nightclubs to self-run spaces: Le BAL (Paris), la
Fondation d'entreprise Pernod Ricard (Paris), the Halles de la Villette (Paris), Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles (Paris), T2G (Gennevilliers), la supérette (Malakoff) and l’Aconservatoire (Noisy-le-Sec).
