    lunulae #2

    Exhibition

Visitors of the children's book fair are invited to discover the second chapter in the “lunulae” cycle of exhibitions. Loucia Carlier's installation immerses us into the artist's subterranean worlds. Inspired by various sources of knowledge and science-fiction stories, her artworks project us into enigmatic scenes, where miniature furniture stands alongside meteorites ready to crash, a strand of DNA reproduced in a bas-relief or a figure reminiscent of an extraterrestrial being.

Free entrance, during the Salon's opening hours.
Salon du livre jeunesse, Espace Olympe-de-Gouges in Saint-Germain-lès-Arpajon.

  • Tuesday, February 20th 2024, 6:00-8:00 p.m.

    Exhibition

This second chapter in the “Les conjugueuls” series of off-site exhibitions is set in “The magical hour”,  at dawn or dusk: an interval between two worlds where future things are born and things from the past come to die. Here, artists create works that open up other dimensions. lunulae #1

    Exhibition

This first exhibition in the “lunulae” cycle lies beneath the surface of the earth, bodies and minds, within the recesses of our secret hiding places. Here, the artists suggest, through clues, the mysteries of the depths. Victor Gogly, Loucia Carlier, Chloé Vanderstraeten and Louise Hallou pay attention to the way in which the outside world influences our inner universes. They observe the boundaries that separate, protect and connect beings with their external environments.

Les conjugueuls #1: It’s all about the panache

    Exhibition

For the first chapter of the cycle of exhibitions “Les conjugueuls” by curator Valentina Ulisse, the artist Héloïse Farago invites visitors of the Salon d'art of Marolles-en-Hurepoix on a journey into a fantastic world. With humour, she invites us to take very seriously the zaniness of children's tales, which carry an emancipating and rebellious force. The artist offers us feminist rewritings of the founding myths and fables of yesteryear. New love stories are born: here, monsters and chimeras are the companions of intrepid heroines and knights in search of their sweetheart.

“Pic et pic” at Théâtre Brétigny

Event in collaboration with the Théâtre Brétigny

On the occasion of "Pic et Pic", a day of events and shows organized by the Théâtre Brétigny, sophie rogg and Camille Martin offer on the forecourt in front of the theater and the art center the workshop "How to cook your enemies".

Artist sophie rogg and curator Camille Martin invite us to decorate a cookie while expressing our negative emotions. To be offered as a prickly gift or to be enjoyed bitterly in one's own corner, the idea is to make a sweet poison: a pastry with a deliciously toxic message.

    Discussion around the exhibition

In the company of Maïa Lacoustille, Valentin Gleyze and Margaux Bonopera

For the last day of the exhibition at CAC Brétigny, the Champs magnétiques collective propose a round table with the artist Maïa Lacoustille, Valentin Gleyze from the Young Cinema collective, and Margaux Bonopera, curator. The discussion will take as its starting point reflections on the occult, contemporary spiritualities and alternative knowledge offered by the works in the exhibition, with which resonates the short film program designed by the Young Cinema collective. We will thus ask the question of the meeting, between artistic but also esoteric proposals.

Followed at 6 pm by a friendly moment around an aperitif.

    “Komos”

Working from texts by Aristophanes and Ovid, Louise Siffert proposes generating collective and individual fictions in order to examine the concepts of transition, transformation, and identity. Participants will eventually rewrite scenes from the Greek tragicomedy, trying their hand at a farce based on genders. Sets and costumes created during the workshops will enable them to explore the way an identity takes shape and becomes flesh through the body/object relationship, the gaze, and the connection with the Other and with space.

  • Workshop with Thibault de Gialluly at Fleury-Mérogis detention center in collaboration with Cyrille Candas

“Les autres ou rien” (Others or nothing)

As part of this project, participants are invited to imagine and design a fictional entity that offers the chance of becoming someone else, changing identities, or disidentifying. As a kind of advisor in transvestism and faux attributes, this company is meant to enable people to appropriate new qualities – ordinary and/or extraordinary ones – modify their appearance, invent new meanings and skills, and compose a new image and narrative of themselves.

    Presence revisited, Devora Neumark

    Performance

“Over a period of eight weeks beginning in September of 1997, I sat on a three-legged wooden bench in various places around the city of Montreal crocheting non-stop. For five hours a day, I crocheted using two colours: fine yellow cotton thread marked the stitches I made in solitude, while purple traced my exchanges with the passersby who stopped to speak with me.” Twenty years later, Devora Neumark recreates “Présence” and adapts it to the specificities of the public spaces of Vitry-sur-Seine and Brétigny-sur-Orge.
With the support of Au Ver à Soie.
